Kiev
A magnificent city with bright domes of churches

land was blessed by God. An ancient capital has a great historical

Lvov

Poltava

Odessa

Òernopol

Pochaev
A centuries-old history of one of the most
ancient monasteries of the Orthodox Church is covered with legends
and myths. The Pochaev Lavra is an architectural ensemble, consisting
of 16 churches, a belfry, cells, etc. Amazing interior and wall
paintings, gilded icons of unique work in the Uspenskij cathedral,
which is the center of the ensemble, will leave unforgettable impressions.
The relic of the Lavra and the decoration of the cathedral is the
icon of the Pochaev God Mother.
Kamenez-Podolskij
Ukrainian poetess Lesia Ukrainka named this
town a flower on the stone. The history of the town is marked by
daramatic events. The fortress of XII-XVIII centuries is one the
few monuments of military architecture of medieval period in our
country. Nowadays the historical museum is located in the fortress,
the cathedral and the town council. More than 50 exhibits tell about
the long history of the town.
Medzubosh
At the cape between the Yuznuj Bug River
and the Buzok the walls of an old fortress can be seen. These are
the monuments of the XVI-XVIII centuries. During its long history
the fortress was the witness of many important events. Five halls
of the ethnography museum, located on the territory of the fortress,
tell about the defeat of Mongolic-Tatar hordes by the army of Danilo
Galutskij and heroic events of the Liberal War.
Hotun
It is the district center of Chernovitskij
region. The past of the town is connected with the heroic history
of our people, their struggle for independence. The Hotun medieval
fortress was one of the strongest in Eastern Europe and defended
the crossing over the Dniestr. Tarasov, a producer shooted the movies
«About the Robin Hood» and «Ajvengo» in the fortress. The names
of M.Lomonosov, V.Dokychaeva, D. Gyramishvili and others are connected
with the history of the town.
Uman. Dendropark «Sofievka»
The park comprises the territory of nearly
140 hectares in the southern part of the town. A rich magnate Pototskij
created the park for his wife Sofia. Much effort was done to create
artificial grottos, waterfalls of charming beauty, thrilling alleys.
According to the creators’ plan illustrations of Homeric «Iliad»
and «Odyssey» are represented in the park. Every composition and
architectural form expresses a certain myth or event. We invite
you to visit this fairy place.
